Event - Hearst Archive x FRN

Wednesday, 10 March 2021, 13:00-14:00 GMT

Have you ever wondered whether there was some dusty archive that held that one piece of information key to your research?  Hearst Magazines, while no longer dusty, does have an archive with unexplored or underutilized archival materials.  From bound volumes of the titles that Hearst UK has published, to transparencies, reference materials, and various other ephemera; the Hearst Library & Archive holds a wealth of information.  Library Manager, Katy Conover, will (virtually) delve into the archive and show you a glimpse of the rich history that is part of Hearst UK through various titles including Harper’s Bazaar, Good Housekeeping, She, and Cosmopolitan.  Bring your questions as there will be a Q&A following the presentation.

Katy Conover is the Library Manager for Hearst UK.  She has an MA in History of Design from the Royal College of Art and a BA in Theatrical Design from Knox College (USA).  She has worked in the Art & Design industry for over 10 years picking up expertise in content and licensing management, archive management, and a plethora of random facts.  She previously worked for the Victoria & Albert Museum in Theatre & Performance; Furniture, Textiles & Fashion; Research; and The National Art Library, Derry Moore Photography, and Bloomsbury Publishing.  She lives in North London and dreams of having an entire wall of books.
